Arnulfo Curcio's late challenge caught a Gladiadores's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnulfo Curcio helped the player get up and apologised. After 3 played minutes Once Pitus got a freekick which was hit by Arnulfo Curcio. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Placido Jakobe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gladiadores's supporters rose to their feet, but Placido Jakobe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeledon Bermudez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Eduardo Gervaso fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gladiadores's protests and gave Eduardo Gervaso a yellow card for diving instead. Aristides Peter lost his temper 13 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 13th minute, Aristides Peter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guillermo Nardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godofredo Lamberto in the 16th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godofredo Lamberto in the 27th minute of play forced Gladiadores's goalkeeper Guillermo Nardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Lain's late challenge caught a Once Pitus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Lain helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Once Pitus booed when Gladiadores was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Lain didn't get a good kick on the ball. The throw-in from Nicanor Herena in the 33rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gladiadores's Camilo Lain. Guillermo Nardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godofredo Lamberto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabio Bibiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Godofredo Endira hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Zeledon Bermudez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Placido Jakobe, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Zeledon Bermudez came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Gladiadores's Placido Jakobe. But to his dismay, Placido Jakobe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When Gladiadores's Placido Jakobe in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Once Pitus's goalie prevented a goal. Benigno Indartsu charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benigno Indartsu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 76th minute, Benigno Indartsu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnulfo Curcio got his second yellow card in the match during the 84th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Once Pitus getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Arnulfo Curcio hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Once Pitus's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Jakobe came free, but Zeledon Bermudez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicanor Herena made in the 87th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gladiadores's Camilo Lain. Placido Jakobe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Bermudez having to interfere. If Placido Jakobe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
