Teofilo Rio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teofilo Felo having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Angel Haitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jesus Jurdan kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Teofilo Felo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Delmar Gilesindo's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Teofilo Rio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teofilo Rio in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teofilo Felo saved Velez Sarsfield from getting behind. 35 minutes into the game, Baldomiro Eutor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Velez Sarsfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galleta the free kick. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Baldomiro Eutor got a free kick in the 35th minute. Teofilo Rio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Isidoro Tello made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Marcial Hori sent off a good shot on target. 49 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Delmar Gilesindo came free, but Teofilo Felo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Jesus Jurdan made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Galleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Fidencio to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Teofilo Felo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Delmar Gilesindo. The Galleta fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Galleta's Teofilo Rio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Delmar Gilesindos short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Teofilo Felo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Teofilo Rio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teofilo Felo was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. 94 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Teofilo Rio came free, but Teofilo Felo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teofilo Felo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Delmar Gilesindo in the 96th minute. If Marcial Hori had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
