After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Dante Henric managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A.Tigre's supporters rose to their feet, but Dante Henric was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teofilo Felo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to C.A.Tigre getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Jose Soter hit a great ball. Osvaldo Rocendo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Damian Txurio went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 24th minute, Damian Txurio made a precise shot to the right of Osvaldo Rocendo. C.A.Tigre's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 27th match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Toro to maneuver through the defense. Teofilo Felo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Olayo in the 39th minute of play. Teofilo Felo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teo Rami in the 40th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Teo Rami made the kick off in the second half. When Evaristo Olayo came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the C.A.Tigre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Olayo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teo Rami in the 58th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Teofilo Felo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A.Tigre's Teo Rami got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teo Rami in the 62nd minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Teofilo Felo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jesus Jurdan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Rocendo having to interfere. After having played for 68 minutes, Evaristo Olayo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Tigre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaristo Olayo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Velez Sarsfield's Damian Txurio got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jesus Jurdan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro Perpinya to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Velez Sarsfield's zone, Teo Rami stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teofilo Felo came out of the goal and Teo Rami tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evaristo Olayo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Teofilo Felo made a huge save. Teo Rami fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teofilo Felo having to interfere. Osvaldo Rocendo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesus Jurdan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Velez Sarsfield fans cheered their team off the field, for while C.A.Tigre had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
