Carmelo Vigil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ricardo Marin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 13 played minutes Cucullú got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Elivareo. Ruperto Raymon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 20th minute, Ricardo Marin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carmelo Vigil struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Modesto Eufrasio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matancilla FC. Cucullú's Modesto Eufrasio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustin Araoz in the 30th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardo Marin in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Modesto Eufrasio saved Cucullú from getting behind. If Ricardo Marin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Marin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Modesto Eufrasio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Modesto Eufrasio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Marin, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute of the match Diego Laffitte sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Modesto Eufrasio skillfully saved the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carmelo Vigil to strike the kick off in the second half. Pastor Salomon hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Ubaldo Jaen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eleuterio Jenaro in the 52nd minute of the match. Ubaldo Jaen came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Cucullú's Ruperto Raymon. But to his dismay, Ruperto Raymon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Ubaldo Jaen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruperto Raymon, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Matancilla FC's Ubaldo Jaen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruperto Raymon in the 74th minute of play. If Ricardo Marin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmelo Vigil in the 78th minute of play forced Cucullú's goalkeeper Modesto Eufrasio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carmelo Vigil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ubaldo Jaen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Celipe in the 88th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ruperto Raymon in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ubaldo Jaen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sergio Elivareo during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Cucullú getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Sergio Elivareo hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cucullú fans cheered their team off the field, for while Matancilla FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
