Salado were furious when Emilio Veronica was red carded, 12 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 14th minute, the referee gave Matancilla FC a penalty. Diego Laffitte looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Valentin Ramond. Carmelo Vigil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Salado's Froilan Avellaneda got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Matancilla FC's Carmelo Vigil dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Carmelo Vigil struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Valentin Ramond didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matancilla FC. 25 minutes into the match, Salado's goalkeeper Valentin Ramond had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Marin. Valentin Ramond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmelo Vigil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carmelo Vigil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Valentin Ramond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentin Ramond made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Ricardo Marin sent off a good shot on target. Isidoro Rocio charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isidoro Rocio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Matancilla FC booed when Salado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Rocio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matancilla FC's Ricardo Marin got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 39 minutes into the game, Saul Jusepe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salado's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matancilla FC the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Laffitte got free with Valentin Ramond in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ricardo Marin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The wind increased when Carmelo Vigil made the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Ricardo Marin made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Salado's Valentin Ramond tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Delmar Goiz kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Carmelo Vigil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Valentin Ramond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Carmelo Vigil notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Salado's Valentin Ramond. Valentin Ramond was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Vinicio Venceslas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salado's supporters rose to their feet, but Vinicio Venceslas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ubaldo Jaen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vinicio Venceslas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matancilla FC's Ubaldo Jaen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Matancilla FC from getting a goal against them. 79 minutes into the game, Arsenio Vargas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Matancilla FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salado the free kick. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Matancilla FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Salado had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
