Maximino Nastasio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alejo Felo having to make a save. The supporters of Victoria booed when Candelaria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niceto Benvido didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Edgardo Favila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute Salvador Justin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejo Felo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Candelaria's goal looked a bit too open when Salvador Justin came free, but Alejo Felo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Salvador Justin came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Victoria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salvador Justin couldn't finish the play. The referee ignored Victoria's protests and gave Godfredo Isias a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Victoria getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Godfredo Isias hit a great ball. Victoria were furious when Rodrigo Palos was red carded, 47 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 46th minute, one of Victoria:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Victoria. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Candelaria's Alejo Felo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Candelaria from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Candelaria's Alejo Felo got control of the ball when Maximino Nastasio tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Maximino Nastasio came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Victoria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximino Nastasio couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute, Godfredo Isias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alejo Felo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Apolo Naelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
