Silvestre Veremundo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Quintana in the 17th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atletico Los Andes's zone, Ciriaco Celio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvestre Veremundo came out of the goal and Ciriaco Celio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Awados's Edgard Eutropio got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Augusto Haritzeder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diego Urdin. Awados's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augusto Haritzeder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 31st minute, Awados's Romulo Quintana dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Awados's Edgard Eutropio got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edgard Eutropio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Adrian Tolino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Americo Ciano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diego Urdin was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. A hard shot 48 in the game by Edgard Eutropio from a close distance when the talented Silvestre Veremundo managed to make a qualified save. Club Atletico Los Andes's players were relieved. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augusto Haritzeder to make the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Ciriaco Celio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silvestre Veremundo. The supporters of Club Atletico Los Andes booed when Awados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inocencio Todor didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Americo Ciano got free with Diego Urdin in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 74 minutes into the match, Awados's goalkeeper Diego Urdin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Americo Ciano. The Awados fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Atletico Los Andes had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
