After 11 played minutes Candelaria AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias Pacifico. After a rather tough play, Candelaria AFC's Carlos Colas got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 13 played minutes, Mataderos FC's Clemente Pelagius shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arnaldo Urko came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mataderos FC reached it. Arnaldo Urko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricardo Vincente went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Everardo Hurko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnaldo Urko read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Candelaria AFC's Carlos Colas got a free kick in the 28th minute. If Marcelo Lando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Vincente struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Arnaldo Urko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mataderos FC. After the first half Mataderos FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ruben Lixandro made a kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Arnaldo Urko successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, Candelaria AFC's Arnaldo Urko got control of the ball when Ricardo Vincente tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 56th minute, Mataderos FC's Ricardo Vincente ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arnaldo Urko. Arnaldo Urko yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. 60 minutes into the game, Mataderos FC's Marcelo Lando nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnaldo Urko made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 64 minutes into the match, Candelaria AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Albino Anaya came free, but Arnaldo Urko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute of the match Mataderos FC got a corner. Candelaria AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Clemente Pelagius ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Ricardo Vincente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Lando's late challenge caught a Candelaria AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelo Lando helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Mataderos FC's Marcelo Lando got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 75th minute, Narciso Weterio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Candelaria AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Mataderos FC's Sergio Emperanza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Weterio in the 80th minute of play. After 83 minutes, Everardo Hurko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mataderos FC and the Candelaria AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Candelaria AFC booed when Mataderos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Everardo Hurko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Lando struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Arnaldo Urko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mataderos FC. If Ricardo Vincente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Candelaria AFC's zone, Jeronimo Sandalio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnaldo Urko came out of the goal and Jeronimo Sandalio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Candelaria AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mataderos FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
