Justo Nalo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nereo Pierres in the 18th minute of play. Nereo Pierres struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Justo Nalo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fenix. In the 27th minute, Marco Luix ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Justo Nalo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. A collision led to Cieneguillas getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Esteban Jurdan hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute of the match Urbano Truylos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Justo Nalo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Nereo Pierres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Luix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Justo Nalo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nereo Pierres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Nereo Pierres came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Fenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nereo Pierres couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Fenix's Marco Luix got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Justo Nalo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Luix in the 75th minute of play. Nereo Pierres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Nereo Pierres might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Justo Nalo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nereo Pierres ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedro Salvadore kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Justo Nalo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nereo Pierres, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute, Pedro Salvadore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fenix's Nereo Pierres got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
