Candelaria AFC's Arnaldo Urko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justo Mendez in the 10th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Godfredo Poncio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sepultura's supporters rose to their feet, but Godfredo Poncio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnaldo Urko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Candelaria AFC's Artemio Prejun got a free kick in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Candelaria AFC's Narciso Weterio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anier Beremundo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 18 played minutes Sepultura got a freekick which was hit by Baldomero Chinto. In the 23rd minute of the match Godfredo Poncio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnaldo Urko skillfully saved the ball. Adrian Arnalt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnaldo Urko having to make a save. Justo Mendez might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnaldo Urko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Justo Mendez ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Candelaria AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Carlos Colas hit a great ball. Arnaldo Urko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Barto, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 36th minute Adrian Arnalt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Urko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artemio Prejun hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. A collision led to Sepultura getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Gabriel Barto hit a great ball. Narciso Weterio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Anier Beremundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnaldo Urko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Justo Mendez's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Anier Beremundo made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Narciso Weterio sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Narciso Weterio to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Candelaria AFC booed when Sepultura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Barto didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Arnaldo Urko managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Sepultura's Justo Mendez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Narciso Weterio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Candelaria AFC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Ruben Lixandro hit a great ball. Sepultura were furious when Gabriel Barto was red carded, 69 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sepultura fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! Bruno Urbez shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Fidel Eneko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Arnaldo Urko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adrian Arnalt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Urko having to interfere. Arnaldo Urko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Eneko, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Adrian Arnalt struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Arnaldo Urko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sepultura. Sepultura's Fidel Eneko got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fidel Eneko in the 92nd minute of play forced Candelaria AFC's goalkeeper Arnaldo Urko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fidel Eneko blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnaldo Urko having to make a save. If Adrian Arnalt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
