Gavino Amaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ildefonso Giro in the 4th minute of play. Rigoberto Bartuelo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justino Iratxo having to interfere. Gavino Amaya made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Ildefonso Giro sent off a good shot on target. 14 minutes into the match, River Plate FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Goizeder came free, but Justino Iratxo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Goizeder in the 16th minute of play forced River Plate FC's goalkeeper Justino Iratxo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Justino Iratxo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rigoberto Bartuelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When Mauro Goizeder fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leoni AFC's protests and gave Mauro Goizeder a yellow card for diving instead. In the 24th minute Rigoberto Bartuelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justino Iratxo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Justino Iratxo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Maidana in the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th play minute Ildefonso Giro came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gavino Amaya. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ildefonso Giro in the 35th minute of play forced Leoni AFC's goalkeeper Gavino Amaya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Denis Maidana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Justino Iratxo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Leoni AFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ildefonso Giro was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Leoni AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ildefonso Giro came free, but Gavino Amaya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francisco Enol charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francisco Enol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mauro Goizeder hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Denis Maidana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leoni AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Denis Maidana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justino Iratxo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. River Plate FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Rigoberto Bartuelo scored to the left of an out of position Justino Iratxo, making the score, 1-3. Justino Iratxo made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Denis Maidana sent off a good shot on target. When Mauro Goizeder was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 70 minutes had been played. Mauro Goizeder hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Leoni AFC's zone, Ildefonso Giro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gavino Amaya came out of the goal and Ildefonso Giro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 82 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Bartuelo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leoni AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate FC the free kick. In the 82nd match minute, Leoni AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Bartuelo to maneuver through the defense. If Ildefonso Giro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. River Plate FC's Justino Iratxo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save River Plate FC from getting a goal against them. Justino Iratxo made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Denis Maidana sent off a good shot on target. When Rigoberto Bartuelo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 94 minutes had been played. After 95 played minutes Leoni AFC got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Bartuelo. The Leoni AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
