Aquilino Udalaitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arsenio Sedeni, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. With a little luck, La ToSCa LoCa's Hilario Mendez got control of the ball when Gervasio Nahia tried to sneak it across the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Enmanuel came free, but Aquilino Udalaitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aquilino Udalaitz came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by La ToSCa LoCa's Guido Quexal. But to his dismay, Guido Quexal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Enmanuel in the 15th minute of play forced Phoenix's goalkeeper Aquilino Udalaitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gervasio Nahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Hilario Mendez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to La ToSCa LoCa getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Eulalio Danel hit a great ball. La ToSCa LoCa's Hilario Mendez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervasio Nahia in the 28th minute of play. La ToSCa LoCa's Hilario Mendez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save La ToSCa LoCa from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes into the game, Gervasio Nahia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hilario Mendez. Gervasio Nahia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Phoenix's Arnaldo Montrelle got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Orlando Osmundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Osmundo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of La ToSCa LoCa:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Phoenix:s goal. In the 41st minute there was a penalty for Phoenix. Bonifacio Nesor stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hilario Mendez. 3-1. Orlando Osmundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilario Mendez having to interfere. In the 46th minute Claudio Furman collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. When Arsenio Sedeni fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La ToSCa LoCa's protests and gave Arsenio Sedeni a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Phoenix booed when La ToSCa LoCa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Sedeni didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Aquilino Udalaitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Camilo Evangelista in the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Phoenix's Manuel Criston got a free kick in the 54th minute. After a defensive mix-up in La ToSCa LoCa's zone, Orlando Osmundo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hilario Mendez came out of the goal and Orlando Osmundo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Phoenix's Arnaldo Montrelle got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Orlando Osmundo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Phoenix getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Bonifacio Nesor hit a great ball. Gervasio Nahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Hilario Mendez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Camilo Evangelista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Phoenix booed when La ToSCa LoCa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guido Quexal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77thth minute of the game Leo Roano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La ToSCa LoCa's Hilario Mendez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Phoenix's Gervasio Nahia got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the La ToSCa LoCa defense, Leo Roano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hilario Mendez. The La ToSCa LoCa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hilario Mendez should have stopped the shot. Guido Quexal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Udalaitz having to interfere. Gervasio Nahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Hilario Mendez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gervasio Nahia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hilario Mendez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The supporters of Phoenix booed when La ToSCa LoCa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Enmanuel didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Phoenix had played much better football throughout.
