Isaias Ruisko charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 44 played minutes Clason got a freekick which was hit by Epifanio Poncio. When Zeledon Ramirez fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico granada's protests and gave Zeledon Ramirez a yellow card for diving instead. Epifanio Poncio might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lisandro Peyo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Epifanio Poncio ran back to his position shaking his head. The Atletico granada supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Clason's performance. The match ended with a win for Clason.
