The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristo Casomiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 14 minutes, Jesus Lazcano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Antonio FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jesus Lazcano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Cristo Casomiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Damian Lapurdi fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Girondo AFC's protests and gave Damian Lapurdi a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Girondo AFC's Damian Lapurdi got a free kick in the 18th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Antonio FC's zone, Silvio Oton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Oihenarte came out of the goal and Silvio Oton tried to chip the ball over his head. Antonio FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Girondo AFC the free kick. 31 minutes into the game, one of Antonio FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ubaldo Aguilera shot the penalty kick right outside the post. 35 minutes into the match, Girondo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jesus Lazcano came free, but Roman Egoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvio Oton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jesus Lazcano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th match minute, Girondo AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Rico to maneuver through the defense.

Girondo AFC's Aldo Gilen got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute Aldo Gilen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Oihenarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute of the match, Jesus Lazcano got a very nice opportunity to score, but Roman Egoitz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cristo Casomiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roman Egoitz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristo Casomiro ran back to his position shaking his head.
