In the 3rd minute, Evelio Jorrin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Enrique Pierres in the 5th minute really tested Antonio Efren's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jonas Itzaina took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Astor Arixo. Astor Arixo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Antonio Efren acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 10th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Silvano Huly. After having played for 14 minutes, Salvador Santiago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Union FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salvador Santiago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Union FC booed when Jáuregui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrique Pierres didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute Jonas Itzaina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Arixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonas Itzaina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Astor Arixo having to interfere. Honorio Che made in the 24th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Union FC's Evelio Jorrin. Tiburcio Crispo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Antonio Efren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cosme Ishmael in the 27th minute. Jáuregui's Gervasio Giro got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Astor Arixo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Bortzaioriz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 minutes of play, Union FC's Jonas Itzaina made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Astor Arixo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arnulfo Aresti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Astor Arixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the game, Enrique Pierres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jáuregui's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Union FC the free kick. Evelio Jorrin, 46 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gervasio Giro to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosme Ishmael in the 53rd minute of play forced Union FC's goalkeeper Antonio Efren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute, Evelio Jorrin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Astor Arixo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Rolando Nuno lost his temper 77 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 76th minute, one of Union FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Union FC. In the 83rd minute Rodrigo Aurken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Efren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Jáuregui's goalkeeper Astor Arixo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evelio Jorrin. In the 87th minute, Gervasio Giro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antonio Efren was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. Astor Arixo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Bortzaioriz, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Arnulfo Aresti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Astor Arixo made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Jáuregui's Dario Romano got a free kick in the 98th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Union FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
