Nemesio Primeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 42 minutes, Teo Caton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sarmiento's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teo Caton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nemesio Primeiro was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teo Caton in the 53rd minute of play forced Defensores de Cervantes's goalkeeper Patricio Cordeara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nemesio Primeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute Teo Caton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Cordeara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nemesio Primeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eulalio Rocio having to interfere. A collision led to Defensores de Cervantes getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Apolo Berdaitz hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Sarmiento's Clodoveo Guillelmo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Patricio Cordeara. Patricio Cordeara yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. After 73 minutes, Clodoveo Guillelmo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarmiento and the Defensores de Cervantes players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sarmiento's Clodoveo Guillelmo got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After 79 played minutes Sarmiento got a freekick which was hit by Cristo Tabby. Through an outstanding action, after 84 minutes, Patricio Cordeara successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cristo Tabby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Sarmiento supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sarmiento would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
