The crowd rose to their feet as Marciano Lucian kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Patricio Cordeara. That made the score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, velez's Samuel Ciano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patricio Cordeara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With his leg Patricio Cordeara managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when velez's Blas Rik fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Defensores de Cervantes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Candido Madeo was slow to take the kick. During this time velez's players had a chance to rest. In the 16th minute, Luisito Oskarbi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 17 minutes, Nemesio Primeiro made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. velez's Robustiano Benvido tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nemesio Primeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the game, Agustin Rutenio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. velez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Defensores de Cervantes the free kick. Agustin Rutenio kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute of the match Marciano Fraco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robustiano Benvido showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Defensores de Cervantes's Patricio Cordeara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marciano Lucian in the 28th minute of play. Robustiano Benvido stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nemesio Primeiro's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. If Marciano Fraco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nemesio Primeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Blas Rik fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Samuel Ciano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nemesio Primeiro made a kick off. With a little luck, velez's Robustiano Benvido got control of the ball when Nemesio Primeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Patricio Cordeara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Ciano, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Marciano Fraco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robustiano Benvido having to interfere. After 61 minutes of play, Defensores de Cervantes's Nemesio Primeiro made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Robustiano Benvido was left in no man's land by his defense there! Agustin Rutenio got his second yellow card in the match during the 68th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 68 played minutes velez got a freekick which was hit by Agustin Rutenio. Patricio Cordeara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blas Rik, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. If Luisito Oskarbi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Blas Rik struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Patricio Cordeara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for velez. When Blas Rik came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the velez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blas Rik couldn't finish the play. Blas Rik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patricio Cordeara having to interfere. Nemesio Primeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 94 in the game by Nemesio Primeiro from a close distance when the talented Robustiano Benvido managed to make a qualified save. velez's players were relieved. Marciano Fraco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robustiano Benvido having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Blas Rik got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
