The referee ignored Atletico Tridente's protests and gave Damaso Illart a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd minute, Damaso Illart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Leo Enekoitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 12 minutes into the game, when Melchor Selatse put in a rough tackle. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Atletico Tridente! In the 14th minute there was a penalty for Club Olimpo. Sixto Bibiano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fidel Acevedo. 0-1. The supporters of Club Olimpo booed when Atletico Tridente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florencio Adrio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eleuterio Dunixi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bernardino Rocendo came out and tried to block the shot, but Eleuterio Dunixi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 21st minute. If Eleuterio Dunixi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 25 played minutes Club Olimpo got a freekick which was hit by Nereo Ostargi. Eustacio Gergori fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Acevedo having to interfere. Eustacio Gergori sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Club Olimpo defense, Eleuterio Dunixi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardino Rocendo. The Club Olimpo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardino Rocendo should have stopped the shot. If Leo Enekoitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Froilan Argenis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Fidel Acevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Atletico Tridente's Eleuterio Dunixi got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Damaso Illart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Olimpo's Bernardino Rocendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eleuterio Dunixi in the 65th minute of play. Fidel Acevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Enekoitz in the 72nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Eleuterio Dunixi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico Tridente's supporters rose to their feet, but Eleuterio Dunixi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardino Rocendo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Illart in the 76th minute of play forced Club Olimpo's goalkeeper Bernardino Rocendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eleuterio Dunixi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Leo Enekoitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eustacio Gergori could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Fidel Acevedo made a huge save. After 87 played minutes, Club Olimpo's Sixto Bibiano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fidel Acevedo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Olimpo reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Tridente's zone, Eustacio Gergori stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fidel Acevedo came out of the goal and Eustacio Gergori tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Atletico Tridente fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Olimpo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
