The Azopardo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Fidel Acevedo came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Azopardo's Atilano Eneto. But to his dismay, Atilano Eneto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 12 minutes into the game, Honorato Perico was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Azopardo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atletico Tridente the free kick. In the 12th match minute, Azopardo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorato Perico to maneuver through the defense. Rogelio Elija, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Eleuterio Dunixi came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Atletico Tridente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eleuterio Dunixi couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Azopardo booed when Atletico Tridente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cirilo Cordero didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Benigno Mouricio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Azopardo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benigno Mouricio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fidel Acevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atilano Eneto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fidel Acevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benigno Mouricio in the 44th minute of play. If Benigno Mouricio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Filomeno Mitxaut showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eleuterio Dunixi, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Marco Evangelista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Filomeno Mitxaut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
