Club Atletico Belgrano's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 23 played minutes Dionisia FC got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Paio. If Saverio Esdras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquin Jerano during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ariel Vimaro made a great header on Club Atletico Belgrano's corner, it was just that Dionisia FC's Mauricio Firmo managed to reach the ball for a save. After the first half Dionisia FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Club Atletico Belgrano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Modesto Florian was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Leo Selatse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 71 minutes Club Atletico Belgrano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Venancio Roland who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Venancio Roland almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Atletico Belgrano's Osvaldo Abechuco did a great save. In the 77th minute Arsenio Santiago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Abechuco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnulfo Dimo took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Osvaldo Abechuco. Mauricio Firmo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Club Atletico Belgrano lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
