Ovidio Bento hit a great ball. When Villafañe's Prudencio Luar in 5 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Timoteo Maties guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Sporting Tucson's Timoteo Maties proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Tucson from getting a goal against them. Ovidio Bento hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Villafañe's Ruben Enaut played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pablo Uzuri in the 11th minute of play. If Prudencio Luar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Villafañe's Esteve Norino dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 21st minute, Prudencio Luar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Villafañe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 25 minutes into the match, Esteve Norino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Timoteo Maties, 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Mario Oliverio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting Tucson's supporters rose to their feet, but Mario Oliverio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruben Enaut breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th match minute, Villafañe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmar Pagomari to maneuver through the defense. Prudencio Luar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Timoteo Maties made a huge save. 35 minutes into the match, Pablo Uzuri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ruben Enaut. Villafañe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pablo Uzuri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 49th minute Esteve Norino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timoteo Maties saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Timoteo Maties tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Sporting Tucson's goal looked a bit too open when Prudencio Luar came free, but Timoteo Maties reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sporting Tucson's Mario Oliverio got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Prudencio Luar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Timoteo Maties tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Villafañe getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Evaristo Rufo hit a great ball. Prudencio Luar struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Timoteo Maties didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villafañe. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Ruben Enaut successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Pablo Uzuri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Enaut having to interfere. Sporting Tucson's Timoteo Maties played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prudencio Luar in the 78th minute of play. Timoteo Maties showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteve Norino, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Luis Lauaxeta hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Ruben Enaut made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zacarias Pedroso in the 88th minute of play. After 89 played minutes, Villafañe's Orlando Vedillo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Timoteo Maties came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Villafañe reached it. In the 92nd minute Esteve Norino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timoteo Maties saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pablo Uzuri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sporting Tucson's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
