Amancio Inautzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Oliverio, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Tucson's goalkeeper Timoteo Maties, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Timoteo Maties was a little too slow when Ramiro Cordeal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 9th minute. The score was now 1-0. Ramiro Cordeal struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Timoteo Maties didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Suplentes. Timoteo Maties made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Bartolo Transito sent off a good shot on target. When Filomeno Herena fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Suplentes's protests and gave Filomeno Herena a yellow card for diving instead. Ramiro Cordeal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timoteo Maties read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Bartolo Transito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Timoteo Maties tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Timoteo Maties made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bartolo Transito in the 37th minute. Suplentes's Bartolo Transito got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pablo Uzuri made a kick off. If Ramiro Cordeal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 67 played minutes Suplentes got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Garikoitz. 71 minutes into the match, Sporting Tucson's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Cordeal came free, but Timoteo Maties reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mario Oliverio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Alvaro Sidro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Timoteo Maties showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Cordeal in the 83rd minute of the match. When Ramiro Cordeal came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Suplentes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiro Cordeal couldn't finish the play. 88 minutes into the match, Suplentes's Ramiro Cordeal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Timoteo Maties narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bartolo Transito hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Timoteo Maties showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolo Transito in the 91st minute of the match. Ramiro Cordeal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timoteo Maties having to interfere. Suplentes's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
