The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Guampacha's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Xabat came free, but Denis Jeraldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 4 played minutes Guampacha got a freekick which was hit by Serafino Hegoi. Denis Jeraldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Xabat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute, Saul Jerico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Camilo Arias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Freddy Tercero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Roberto Xabat came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Xabat couldn't finish the play. Denis Jeraldo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Constantino Benitez in the 21st minute. Boca Juniors's Freddy Tercero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Arias in the 24th minute of play. Guampacha's Camilo Arias got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Boca Juniors's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cecilio Suarez in the 31st minute. Boca Juniors's Cecilio Suarez was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Denis Jeraldo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 33 minutes into the match, Guampacha's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Xabat came free, but Denis Jeraldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Joel Jakobe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boca Juniors's Cecilio Suarez shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 36th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Denis Jeraldo but with some difficulty. Saul Jerico kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Bonifacio Haimar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Freddy Tercero. Boca Juniors's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Constantino Benitez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 78thth minute of the game Camilo Arias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boca Juniors's Freddy Tercero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Denis Jeraldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Constantino Benitez, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Boca Juniors's Roberto Xabat got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Freddy Tercero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carolo Buinton in the 88th minute. Carolo Buinton scored 0-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Freddy Tercero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Guampacha players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
