Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 12th minute Elvio Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Erramu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severino Argenis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bartolo Maraman hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Javier Erramu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvio Perez in the 28th minute of play. Igor Evangelista might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severino Argenis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Igor Evangelista ran back to his position shaking his head. ★MERLUZA★'s Teofilo Obano got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Severino Argenis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofilo Obano, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Azucena's goal looked a bit too open when Teofilo Obano came free, but Severino Argenis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elvio Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bartolo Maraman's late challenge caught a ★MERLUZA★'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bartolo Maraman helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Azucena's Bartolo Maraman got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elvio Perez to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Roberto Balendin notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of ★MERLUZA★'s Javier Erramu. Javier Erramu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Javier Erramu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvio Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 64th minute Elvio Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Erramu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Azucena's goalkeeper Severino Argenis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. ★MERLUZA★'s Javier Erramu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elvio Perez in the 72nd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, ★MERLUZA★'s Igor Evangelista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Severino Argenis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Severino Argenis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofilo Obano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
