Spectators: 7161 (Terracing: 5474, Seating: 1677, VIP seats: 10) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Arsenio Lizar started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulino Bela in the 4th minute of play forced Santiago del Estero F.C's goalkeeper Iker Steven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Emanuel Otoniel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elvio Tiadoro. Empalme FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emanuel Otoniel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Emanuel Otoniel charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emanuel Otoniel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Empalme FC booed when Santiago del Estero F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Otoniel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guillermo Txomin struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Iker Steven didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Empalme FC. In the 18th match minute, Santiago del Estero F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adan Otoniel to maneuver through the defense. Anibal Roano scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elvio Tiadoro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 25 minutes into the match, Empalme FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lázaro Ferdinand came free, but Elvio Tiadoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Emanuel Otoniel was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 26 minutes had been played. Emanuel Otoniel kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Iker Steven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulino Bela in the 32nd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the game, Paulino Bela recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Iker Steven. Paulino Bela showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Iker Steven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulino Bela in the 39th minute of the match. Empalme FC's Honorato Miro got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulino Bela made a kick off. Iker Steven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorato Miro in the 65th minute of play. Iker Steven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulino Bela, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The supporters of Empalme FC booed when Santiago del Estero F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Lizar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute, Paulino Bela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulino Bela in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iker Steven saved Santiago del Estero F.C from getting behind. Arsenio Lizar kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. When Paulino Bela came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Empalme FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulino Bela couldn't finish the play. Iker Steven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulino Bela, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Arsenio Lizar got his second yellow card in the match during the 81st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Honorato Miro in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iker Steven prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Santiago del Estero F.C's Lázaro Ferdinand got a free kick in the 90th minute. Empalme FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
