Spectators: 7220 (Terracing: 5416, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jacinto Poncio started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Manni in the 3rd minute of play forced Sporting del Rio's goalkeeper Florentino Macerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting del Rio's goalkeeper Florentino Macerio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Romulo Nikola struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Florentino Macerio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Patada Cubana. 10 minutes in the game, Jacinto Poncio fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ciriaco Dei having to interfere. Angel Mino kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Patada Cubana's goalkeeper Ciriaco Dei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Basilio Luke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florentino Macerio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romulo Nikola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raimundo Manni hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaspar Orlandus during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, La Patada Cubana's Blas Cefero got a free kick in the 28th minute. 1-0 became the score in the 31st minute when Gaspar Orlandus elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 37th minute Romulo Nikola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Macerio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Gaspar Orlandus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting del Rio's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaspar Orlandus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciriaco Dei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute, Jacinto Poncio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Romulo Nikola blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Florentino Macerio having to make a save. Romulo Nikola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gaspar Orlandus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ciriaco Dei came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting del Rio's Jacinto Poncio. But to his dismay, Jacinto Poncio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When Romulo Nikola came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the La Patada Cubana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romulo Nikola couldn't finish the play. Ciriaco Dei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Poncio in the 74th minute of the match. Jacinto Poncio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Jacinto Poncio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciriaco Dei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, La Patada Cubana's Samuel Olentzaro got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting del Rio's goalkeeper Florentino Macerio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gaspar Orlandus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Ciriaco Dei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sporting del Rio's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
