Spectators: 6653 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1653, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jairo Gartxot kicked off to start the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Nicasio Darien managed to get in a good position for a shot. River's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicasio Darien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramiro Felipillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 8th minute Nicasio Darien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Felipillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in River's zone, Jairo Gartxot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natalio Arnas came out of the goal and Jairo Gartxot tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind River's goalkeeper Natalio Arnas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Club Atletico Banfield's Jairo Gartxot dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Ramiro Felipillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Baudelio in the 27th minute of the match. If Nicasio Darien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30th minute, Wilfredo Baudelio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 42 minutes into the match, River's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Gartxot came free, but Natalio Arnas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Natalio Arnas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Gartxot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicasio Darien was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Rafael Burutzagi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico Banfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Burutzagi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Club Atletico Banfield's Ramiro Felipillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicasio Darien in the 55th minute of play. After 56 played minutes Club Atletico Banfield got a freekick which was hit by Aureliano Arias. In the 59th minute Nicolas Honrio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natalio Arnas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 played minutes River got a freekick which was hit by Maximiliano Hechter. When Club Atletico Banfield's Jairo Gartxot in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye River's goalie prevented a goal. Nicasio Darien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Felipillo having to interfere. Ramiro Felipillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicasio Darien in the 78th minute of the match. Natalio Arnas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Burutzagi, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. A collision led to River getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Fulgencio Opilano hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Club Atletico Banfield's Santos Fe tried to score from far away in the 86th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Club Atletico Banfield's Gregorio Rosario suffered a sore thigh after 87 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Fulgencio Opilano's late challenge caught a Club Atletico Banfield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fulgencio Opilano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Club Atletico Banfield booed when River was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulgencio Opilano didn't get a good kick on the ball. River's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
