The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Club Cultural Gerli's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luciano Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Ramos in the 17th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Aristides Raymond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aristides Raymond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Club Cultural Gerli's Reynaldo Ramos in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Figueroa AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reynaldo Ramos in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luciano Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luciano Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aristides Raymond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Navarro having to interfere. With a little luck, Club Cultural Gerli's Teodosio Gora got control of the ball when Domingos Laurgain tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Domingos Laurgain kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Teodosio Gora. That made the score 1-0 in the 43 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Domingos Laurgain was the one to do the kick off. Teodosio Gora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingos Laurgain in the 58th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Club Cultural Gerli's zone, Domingos Laurgain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodosio Gora came out of the goal and Domingos Laurgain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aristides Raymond struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Luciano Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Cultural Gerli. Teodosio Gora took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingos Laurgain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruben Raitin hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Marciano Avellaneda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Figueroa AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marciano Avellaneda in the 72nd minute of play forced Club Cultural Gerli's goalkeeper Teodosio Gora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Aristides Raymond came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Club Cultural Gerli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aristides Raymond couldn't finish the play. 77 minutes into the match, Club Cultural Gerli's Reynaldo Ramos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luciano Navarro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Figueroa AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! Romeo Phelipe shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Teodosio Gora showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marciano Avellaneda, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Aristides Raymond notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Figueroa AFC's Luciano Navarro. Luciano Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eliseo Abar hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Figueroa AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
