Epifanio Uxio charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Epifanio Uxio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Boca Juniors:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Barrancas:s goal. 23 minutes into the match, Leonel Larra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alejo Abilio. Barrancas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonel Larra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 30th minute, Boca Juniors's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Anibal Nicholas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Anibal Nicholas took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Juan Polentzi to make any attempt to save it. Juan Polentzi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After 45 played minutes, Barrancas's Javier Matteo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juan Polentzi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Barrancas reached it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horacio Mitxel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Juan Polentzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anibal Nicholas in the 55th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Mitxaut came free, but Juan Polentzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
