Fernando Lonzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Lop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the game, Vladimiro Havier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Teobaldo Ospin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 68 minutes, Braulio Etxekopar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ALMIRANTE BROWN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Braulio Etxekopar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, ALMIRANTE BROWN's Fernando Lonzo threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pablo Lop, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 73rd minute, Braulio Etxekopar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fernando Lonzo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Independiente's Fernando Lonzo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Independiente from getting a goal against them. Fernando Lonzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pablo Lop in the 78th minute of the match. After 79 minutes, Leopoldo Lia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independiente and the ALMIRANTE BROWN players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vladimiro Havier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teobaldo Ospin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. ALMIRANTE BROWN's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
