Horacio Kusko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 10 minutes, Amadeo Mundo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Huascán and the Gaypón players grew even worse after the yellow card. Amadeo Mundo kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Godofredo Frechoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horacio Kusko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the game, Ovidio Ongile was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Huascán's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gaypón the free kick. In the 18th match minute, Huascán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidio Ongile to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Huascán's Godofredo Frechoso got control of the ball when Gonzalo Stephen tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reynaldo Baraquiel during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 26 played minutes Gaypón got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Baraquiel. When Huascán's Ovidio Ongile in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gaypón's goalie prevented a goal. After 45 played minutes Gaypón got a freekick which was hit by Hector Belo. Epifanio Pagomari struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Carolo Gines didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Huascán. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Alejo Javiero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Carolo Gines tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gaypón's zone, Epifanio Pagomari stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carolo Gines came out of the goal and Epifanio Pagomari tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gonzalo Stephen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carolo Gines took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Epifanio Pagomari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Gaypón's Julio Laffitte got a free kick in the 67th minute. When Godfredo Banegas came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Huascán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Godfredo Banegas couldn't finish the play. Alejo Javiero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Carolo Gines made a huge save. Alejo Javiero's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Carolo Gines firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gaypón's goalkeeper Carolo Gines, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Froilan Frichoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Epifanio Pagomari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carolo Gines having to interfere. If Alejo Javiero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horacio Kusko in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Godofredo Frechoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Gaypón support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
