Independiente's Leopoldo Monico got his second yellow card of the match in the 47th minute. The referee ordered Leopoldo Monico off the ground. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pablo Lop stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fernando Lonzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Braulio Etxekopar in the 54th minute of the match. Braulio Etxekopar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pablo Lop's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernando Lonzo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Braulio Etxekopar struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Fernando Lonzo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ALMIRANTE BROWN. Fernando Lonzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braulio Etxekopar in the 95th minute of play. Pablo Lop sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. ALMIRANTE BROWN had played much better football throughout.
