In the 28th minute, Anier Ioritz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gatorei's Victorio Niva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Gatorei from getting a goal against them. Modesto Phelipe hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After 36 played minutes, Gatorei's Dario Karlo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Apolo Olo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gatorei reached it. Apolo Olo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Pierres in the 42nd minute of play. Lorenzo Pierres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Apolo Olo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimiro Herauso in the 52nd minute of play forced Gatorei's goalkeeper Victorio Niva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Modesto Phelipe hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. If Enrique Gagriel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anier Ioritz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anier Ioritz struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Apolo Olo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gatorei. After a defensive mix-up in RACING CLUB's zone, Anier Ioritz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Apolo Olo came out of the goal and Anier Ioritz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Apolo Olo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lorenzo Pierres in the 68th minute. Lorenzo Pierres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Apolo Olo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enrique Gagriel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Modesto Phelipe came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the RACING CLUB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Modesto Phelipe couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Enrique Gagriel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victorio Niva was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Enrique Gagriel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
