A very good chance. 46 minutes into the game, Anibal Montes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hoyón's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MaTeDu FC the free kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Hoyón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Astor Gorbea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 79th minute, Jesus Eztebe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Candido Belmiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayetano Oso in the 81st minute of play. Dante Orlondo struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Candido Belmiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MaTeDu FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Arnoldo Silvanito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hoyón's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnoldo Silvanito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alberto Furtado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
