The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Martin Navarro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 11 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute, one of River Plate:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for River Plate. Rigoberto Musko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Javier Sandaili, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rigoberto Musko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Ordono in the 19th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, Nicasio Onbera was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panacón FC the free kick. In the 22nd minute Leandro Ordono shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Musko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severiano Niguel in the 23rd minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Rigoberto Musko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Severiano Niguel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Musko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Clodoveo Matro notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of River Plate's Rigoberto Musko. Rigoberto Musko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Severiano Niguel went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. River Plate's Rigoberto Musko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Ordono in the 45th minute of play. 48 minutes into the game, Leandro Ordono cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Rigoberto Musko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Panacón FC were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicasio Onbera to make the kick off. Rigoberto Musko came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Panacón FC's Severiano Niguel. But to his dismay, Severiano Niguel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Jorge Leocadio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severiano Niguel got free with Rigoberto Musko in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
