After 22 played minutes, Deportivo Atómico's Mario Tauro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cipriano Macario came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Atómico reached it. Lazio's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edelmiro Tadzio to strike the kick off in the second half. Edelmiro Tadzio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Macario having to interfere. The referee ignored Lazio's protests and gave Enrique Oriol a yellow card for diving instead. Enrique Oriol kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Honorato Leizarraga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Deportivo Atómico's Honorato Leizarraga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cipriano Macario narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ruperto Perfecto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvio Eutor in the 98th minute of the match. When the match was over Deportivo Atómico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lazio throughout the match.
