Delmiro Bertin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 8 minutes into the match, Mendiolaza's goalkeeper Delmiro Bertin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Conrado Fagondo. In the 9th match minute, Mendiolaza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fulgencio Amaya to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute, one of Mendiolaza:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mendiolaza. Fulgencio Amaya scored 1-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergio Gilabert, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mendiolaza's Delmiro Bertin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Mendiolaza from getting a goal against them. In the 26th minute, Teofilo Fernandes made a precise shot to the right of Sergio Gilabert. Los Pollos Hermanos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Jorge Medina was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 32nd minute. Los Pollos Hermanos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Conrado Fagondo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Los Pollos Hermanos booed when Mendiolaza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio Caton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38thth minute of the game Teofilo Fernandes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Pollos Hermanos's Sergio Gilabert was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Los Pollos Hermanos's Jorge Medina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Delmiro Bertin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Teofilo Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Los Pollos Hermanos's zone, Teofilo Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sergio Gilabert came out of the goal and Teofilo Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorge Medina to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Melchor Maria during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Delmiro Bertin went to the wrong direction when Simon Bittor was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conrado Fagondo in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Delmiro Bertin saved Mendiolaza from getting behind. Gonzalo Buinton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabricio Gilesindo hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Jorge Medina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delmiro Bertin having to interfere. Delmiro Bertin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Medina, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After having played for 73 minutes, Jorge Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Pollos Hermanos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Medina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Delmiro Bertin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Fagondo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Conrado Fagondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delmiro Bertin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 minutes of play, Los Pollos Hermanos's Conrado Fagondo made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Delmiro Bertin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Teofilo Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Los Pollos Hermanos's Sergio Gilabert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teofilo Fernandes in the 95th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
