Fernando Monico acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 5th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ezequiel Bertran. Leonides Katia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Braulio Maurino in the 6th minute of the match. After having played for 8 minutes, Gogo Stanislao managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gogo Stanislao was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nunez Gelmiro during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 12 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Loreto. Nunez Gelmiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Fernando Monico made a huge save. Leonides Katia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Anaya in the 24th minute of the match. Leonides Katia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braulio Maurino, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. A hard shot by Severo Porfirio from long distance, 33 minutes into the match, got Fernando Monico's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 34 minutes, Feliciano Jerardo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River Plate and the Club Atlético Nubes players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Feliciano Jerardo hit a great ball. In the 35th minute of the match Prospero Naike sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonides Katia skillfully saved the ball. Gogo Stanislao took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fernando Monico. Fernando Monico dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Gogo Stanislao came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gogo Stanislao couldn't finish the play. Nunez Gelmiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Monico having to interfere. The supporters of River Plate booed when Club Atlético Nubes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernabe Lawrence didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gogo Stanislao came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gogo Stanislao couldn't finish the play. Gogo Stanislao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Severo Porfirio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gogo Stanislao to strike the kick off in the second half. Nunez Gelmiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Monico having to interfere. Leonides Katia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aristides Lleir in the 57th minute. After 58 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Nunez Gelmiro. Alfredo Loreto hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Braulio Maurino could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Leonides Katia however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, River Plate's Leonides Katia got control of the ball when Braulio Maurino tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, River Plate's goalkeeper Leonides Katia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Braulio Maurino. With 70 minutes on the clock, Feliciano Jerardo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 70 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for River Plate! River Plate's Paolo Blasi got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nunez Gelmiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Braulio Maurino came free with the goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Leonides Katia could save by the left post. 85 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Nubes's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Claus came free, but Fernando Monico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nunez Gelmiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernando Monico read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Nunez Gelmiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Monico having to interfere. Paolo Blasi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonides Katia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Anaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. River Plate were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
