Pichanal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucio Olivar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Pichanal's goal looked a bit too open when Fernan Ganix came free, but Daniel Hug reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucio Olivar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Pichanal's Daniel Hug got control of the ball when Roque Selatse tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lucio Olivar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentin Dayam to make the kick off. With a little luck, Sabagasta's Roberto Menendo got control of the ball when Lucio Olivar tried to sneak it across the goal line.
