After 7 played minutes Corrientes Fútbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Arsenio Oinaz. Joel Rubio's late challenge caught a Racing Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Racing Club booed when Corrientes Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. After a rather tough play, Corrientes Fútbol Club's Joel Rubio got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Raimundo Tolino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leopoldo Cresitobalo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. After 32 played minutes Corrientes Fútbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Nunez Peru. Racing Club's Ulises Bladi got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Ulises Bladi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leopoldo Cresitobalo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Tolino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Corrientes Fútbol Club players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Racing Club were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raimundo Tolino was the one to do the kick off. When Angelo Marquez fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing Club's protests and gave Angelo Marquez a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Corrientes Fútbol Club booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ulises Bladi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leopoldo Cresitobalo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After 56 played minutes Corrientes Fútbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Nunez Peru. Raimundo Tolino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aldo Ekialde kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Raimundo Tolino took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Leopoldo Cresitobalo to make any attempt to save it. Ulises Bladi struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Leopoldo Cresitobalo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Racing Club. Racing Club's Esteban Gonsalvo got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 72 minutes of play, Racing Club's Ulises Bladi made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leopoldo Cresitobalo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Clemente Menendo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Savier in the 83rd minute of play. Ulises Bladi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Raimundo Tolino came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raimundo Tolino couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle sounded Racing Club left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Corrientes Fútbol Club.
