Efrain Ofelio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Prospero Perico went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 13th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorio Artaldo to maneuver through the defense. If Cristian Louis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerardo Virila during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gerardo Virila hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Adan Dolcet, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Vincente in the 36th minute of play forced Tudcum's goalkeeper Efrain Ofelio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Prospero Perico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Independiente were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Gilberto Vincente made the kick off in the second half. Silverio Matteo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Louis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silverio Matteo came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Tudcum's Cristian Louis. But to his dismay, Cristian Louis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The supporters of Independiente booed when Tudcum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Louis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Gilberto Vincente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the game, Salvador Cordairo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tudcum's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independiente the free kick. After 65 played minutes Tudcum got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Cordairo. Gilberto Vincente was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 66th minute. Independiente's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 70th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erubiel Bakar to maneuver through the defense. Gerardo Virila got his second yellow card in the match during the 75th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 76th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Virila to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Louis struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Silverio Matteo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tudcum. Prospero Perico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Efrain Ofelio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Cristian Louis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Honorio Artaldo hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
