Silverio Matteo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Prospero Perico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaspar Erlantz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. After having played for 24 minutes, Edgardo Oihenarte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Agrelo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgardo Oihenarte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Honorio Artaldo hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Edgardo Oihenarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silverio Matteo came out of the goal and Edgardo Oihenarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silverio Matteo came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Agrelo's Edgardo Oihenarte. But to his dismay, Edgardo Oihenarte quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Silverio Matteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Oihenarte in the 34th minute of play. Independiente's Silverio Matteo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaspar Erlantz in the 37th minute of play. Tomas Araoz lost his temper 45 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 45 minutes into the game, one of Independiente:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Gerardo Virila charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerardo Virila the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaspar Erlantz in the 58th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Silverio Matteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 played minutes Agrelo got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Crescencio. The supporters of Independiente booed when Agrelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Crescencio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Norberto Gutxi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prospero Perico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Prospero Perico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Agrelo's Hipolito Leocadio got a free kick in the 71st minute. A collision led to Agrelo getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Augusto Crescencio hit a great ball. Edgardo Oihenarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silverio Matteo having to interfere. Silverio Matteo made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Edgardo Oihenarte sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st minute, Edgardo Oihenarte fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Edgardo Oihenarte came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Agrelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgardo Oihenarte couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes into the game, Gaspar Erlantz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Silverio Matteo. Gaspar Erlantz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Aurelio Artal hit a great ball. Independiente's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gaspar Erlantz 98 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Agrelo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
