Higinio Mitxel charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Higinio Mitxel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Michael in the 16th minute of play forced Córdoba Azulgrana's goalkeeper Melquiades Calixto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Córdoba Azulgrana's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Michael came free, but Melquiades Calixto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ceferino Chale's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felipe Leoncio was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game.
