Gerardo Ler came free with the goalkeeper in the 48th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nunez Tercero could save by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

A collision led to Pourtalé AFC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Anacleto Piarres hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Gaxan in the 56th minute of play forced Pourtalé AFC's goalkeeper Luis Herauso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de La Plata's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Ler came free, but Nunez Tercero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes Estudiantes de La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Luis Rufio. Rosendo Filipo might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nunez Tercero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
