The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 9 minutes into the match, Caroya's goal looked a bit too open when Serafino Cesario came free, but Gilberto Mosen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teo Confesor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Federico Lidon's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Teo Confesor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horacio Gentza, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Celso Abaunza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Gilberto Mosen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafino Cesario in the 23rd minute of play forced Caroya's goalkeeper Gilberto Mosen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Serafino Cesario in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilberto Mosen saved Caroya from getting behind. If Serafino Cesario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Cayetano Ganix left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peumayen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Caroya's zone, Damian Ursino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Mosen came out of the goal and Damian Ursino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serafino Cesario was the one to do the kick off. After 56 minutes, Cayetano Ganix mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peumayen and the Caroya players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Peumayen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cayetano Ganix to maneuver through the defense. If Pascual Rodas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Serafino Cesario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the match, Peumayen's Serafino Cesario sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto Mosen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Serafino Cesario's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gilberto Mosen firmly grabbed it by the left post. Gilberto Mosen made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Serafino Cesario sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Caroya's Jeremias Delfino got a free kick in the 74th minute.
