Spectators: 6660 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fernando Gaxan took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 7 played minutes Rodio got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Musko. When Norberto Piorno came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Rodio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norberto Piorno couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Uriel Abecia in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nunez Tercero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nunez Tercero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uriel Abecia in the 17th minute of play. Nunez Tercero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norberto Piorno's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Uriel Abecia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nunez Tercero. Estudiantes de La Plata's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Uriel Abecia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Uriel Abecia might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nunez Tercero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Uriel Abecia ran back to his position shaking his head. 0-3 became the score in the 34th minute when Norberto Piorno elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Estudiantes de La Plata booed when Rodio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damian Katia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Gaxan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Desiderio Ortle came out and tried to block the shot, but Fernando Gaxan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 38th minute. Bartolo Sengrat hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After the first half Rodio were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Norberto Piorno made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Estudiantes de La Plata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Rufio to maneuver through the defense. 53 minutes into the match, Rodio's Lucas Elixio broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Victoriano Valentine kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Uriel Abecia succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 56th playminute. Nunez Tercero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto Piorno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nunez Tercero came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Rodio's Norberto Piorno. But to his dismay, Norberto Piorno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Higinio Tancredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norberto Piorno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Nunez Tercero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Norberto Piorno 74 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-6. Estudiantes de La Plata's Fernando Gaxan got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 84 played minutes Estudiantes de La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Victoriano Valentine. Lucas Elixio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 84th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Rodio's Norberto Piorno in the 90th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Nunez Tercero was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Estudiantes de La Plata through an amazing save. A collision led to Estudiantes de La Plata getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Luis Rufio hit a great ball. When Norberto Piorno fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rodio's protests and gave Norberto Piorno a yellow card for diving instead. Norberto Piorno hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Rodio's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
