Nicolas Fernendo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Los Matadores F.C's Marcial Maiorga got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Placido Eate managed to get in a good position for a shot. Latorre Fútbol Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Placido Eate was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After the first half Los Matadores F.C were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cipriano Ospetsu to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erasmo Macerio in the 56th minute of play forced Latorre Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Nicolas Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Jairo Paul managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
