Moises Serafo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severiano Farias, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Atletico Chimichurri's goal looked a bit too open when Mateo Azibar came free, but Ruperto Roano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antonio Giro made a kick off. When Antonio Giro came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Atletico Chimichurri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Giro couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Chimichurri's zone, Amadeo Belasko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruperto Roano came out of the goal and Amadeo Belasko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeo Belasko in the 90th minute of play forced Atletico Chimichurri's goalkeeper Ruperto Roano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Martin Liberto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atletico Chimichurri's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grütly FC the free kick. Martin Liberto hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 94 minutes into the match, Mateo Azibar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ruperto Roano. Atletico Chimichurri's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mateo Azibar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The Atletico Chimichurri supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Atletico Chimichurri would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
