In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Recoleta FC's goalkeeper Casimiro Barros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Severiano Sayvion was shown his second yellow card after 21 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Casimiro Bieito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolando Hechter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Damian Pagomari had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Casimiro Barros. Recoleta FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Damian Pagomari was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Rolando Hechter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Los Acalambrados FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Recoleta FC's zone, Damian Pagomari stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casimiro Barros came out of the goal and Damian Pagomari tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ambrosio Sotero struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Casimiro Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Acalambrados FC. After the first half Los Acalambrados FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Clodoveo Hernando came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Los Acalambrados FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clodoveo Hernando couldn't finish the play. Baldomiro Resto kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. If Damian Pagomari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Everardo Rayman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Acalambrados FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Everardo Rayman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casimiro Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Recoleta FC's Casimiro Barros got control of the ball when Damian Pagomari tried to sneak it across the goal line. Clodoveo Hernando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casimiro Barros having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Rolando Hechter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Casimiro Bieito was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-7.
