Casimiro Barros guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Gregorio Lazcano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Casimiro Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Rolando Hechter notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Boca Juniors's Enrique Llanos. Enrique Llanos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With his leg Casimiro Barros managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Boca Juniors's Maicon das Neves fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 27th minute, Joaquin Nazario fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 29 minutes, Maicon das Neves made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Recoleta FC's Casimiro Barros tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 33rd match minute, Recoleta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomiro Resto to maneuver through the defense. Casimiro Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maicon das Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the game, Gregorio Lazcano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boca Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Recoleta FC the free kick. The supporters of Recoleta FC booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregorio Lazcano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Recoleta FC's Casimiro Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Recoleta FC from getting a goal against them. Gregorio Lazcano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Casimiro Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gregorio Lazcano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casimiro Barros having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Recoleta FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Joaquin Nazario fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Maicon das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maicon das Neves couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ignacio Fidensio was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes, Haroldo Mogel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Recoleta FC and the Boca Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th match minute, Recoleta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Mogel to maneuver through the defense. When Boca Juniors's Maicon das Neves in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 57th minute, Gregorio Lazcano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Recoleta FC's Casimiro Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maicon das Neves in the 59th minute of play. Ruben Hotz charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruben Hotz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Recoleta FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! In the 69th minute, Ubaldo Eyague hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gregorio Lazcano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casimiro Barros having to interfere. After having played for 73 minutes, Gregorio Lazcano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gregorio Lazcano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Recoleta FC's zone, Gregorio Lazcano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casimiro Barros came out of the goal and Gregorio Lazcano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gregorio Lazcano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Casimiro Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquin Nazario in the 79th minute of play forced Recoleta FC's goalkeeper Casimiro Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gregorio Lazcano came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregorio Lazcano couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute of the match Leon Montrell sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Casimiro Barros skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Joaquin Nazario managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquin Nazario was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casimiro Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maicon das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Casimiro Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rolando Hechter fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Recoleta FC's protests and gave Rolando Hechter a yellow card for diving instead. Rolando Hechter hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciriaco Cordarin got free with Enrique Llanos in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 96th minute Gregorio Lazcano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casimiro Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gregorio Lazcano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the Boca Juniors players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
